Thekua is more than a sweet in Mithila—it is a tradition passed from one generation to the next. Our Mithila Ghee Thekua brings that tradition to your table with a simple, time-honoured recipe: whole-wheat flour, jaggery, desi ghee, coconut, cashew and almond. Each thekua is carefully shaped and slowly fried until golden and crisp, creating the rich aroma, rustic texture and comforting taste associated with homemade Mithila thekua.
Small batches mean colour, size and the number of pieces vary a little from pack to pack. That is what handmade looks like, and we would rather keep it that way.

Questions, answered
How many pieces are in a 250 g pack?
Each piece is shaped by hand, so the count varies slightly from pack to pack — usually somewhere around a dozen. The net weight is always 250 g.
How sweet is it, and what is it sweetened with?
Jaggery, not refined sugar, so the sweetness is rounder and less sharp than a biscuit. It is sweet enough to eat with tea, and not so sweet that you can only manage one.
How long does it stay crisp once I open the pack?
About 30 days if you press the zip-lock shut and keep it somewhere cool and dry. Unopened, it keeps for six months from the packaging date printed on the pack.
Can I pay on delivery?
Yes. Choose Cash on Delivery and pay the courier when the parcel arrives. We call every customer to confirm the order before packing, so you will hear from us shortly after ordering. Paying online instead takes 10% off the subtotal.
When will my order arrive?
We pack after your order is confirmed and dispatch within 2 working days. After that it is usually 3–5 working days to metro cities and 5–8 working days elsewhere in India. You get an order page you can check at any time.
What if I change my mind, or the pack arrives damaged?
Cancel free of charge any time before dispatch. Because this is food we cannot take change-of-mind returns once it has shipped — but if a pack turns up damaged, spoiled or wrong, send us a photo within 48 hours and we will replace it or refund you in full.
